This visually stunning and beautifully crafted book has hundreds of color photos of bromeliads in their habitat, as well as general habitat photos and wildlife of the poorly known North East of Brazil. Many bromeliads are studied in great detail and new species described, but this book offers so much more. Beyond the bromeliads, it focuses on the fragile remnants of the once great and expansive Atlantic Forest, which is now reduced to mere fragments in a few remaining pockets and hill tops. An important book for our times and a satisfying read for all those who love bromeliads and nature in general. Destined to become a treasured keepsake, very few of these books were produced in English. |
