About Margaret Paterson: has lived down the road from my house growing Bromeliads for over many years at least since 1970, when she was bitten by the "Bromeliad Bug" and was caught incurably. Her interest has centered on bromeliads, with an extensive collection from different genera: neoregelia tillandsia cryptanthus vriesea pitcairnia She has traveled across Australia and New Zealand speaking at shows, has been successful in producing hybrids between species from different genera and has included photos in her book. Bill says some of the Tillandsias included in the book have taken in excess of twenty years to complete the life cycle as Tillandsias don't show their full potential till the second or third flowering requiring great patience from the hybridist to achieve results. |
